Bipolar Disorder, also called manic depression, affects millions of people everyday, whether it be the person suffering from this disorder or their loved ones. Life can be quite a challenge living with someone that is affected by Bipolar Disorder, but with the many treatment options that are available today, most of those suffering from Bipolar Disorder can get a grip on their disorder and lead an otherwise normal life. There is not a cure for Bipolar Disorder, but most physicians will recommend a combination of different types of medication along with a treatment plan to get the disorder under control. Most patients will see improvement, but it is usually after a process of elimination and trial and error to see which medications maximize your results.<br />

<p>This list of represents commonly reported signs that one may have Bipolar Disorder:<br />
During the &#8220;depressive&#8221; state of manic depression, one may have:<br />
*Irate Behavior / Lashing Out<br />
*Withdraws from family and friends and/or activities<br />
*Thoughts of Suicide<br />
*Severe Mood Swings, joyful behavior one moment and withdrawn the next<br />
*Have slowed or slurred speech</p>
<p>In a &#8220;manic&#8221; episode, one may:<br />
*Feel energized, even with lack of sleep<br />
*Have high confidence<br />
*Speak rapidly<br />
*Make irrational, spur of the moment decisions, without considering consequence<br />
*Have a difficult time focusing<br />
*Be easily distracted </p>
