Claude Haiku 5.5: the cheapest, fastest small Claude yet
Built for classification, routing, extraction and subagents.
Anthropic launched Claude Haiku 5.5, the third model in the Claude 5.5 family in about a month. Reuters reports pricing of $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens for prompts under 100,000 tokens, rising to $0.50 and $2.50 for longer prompts, which is 75% less than Haiku 4.5.
It supports a 1M-token context window, up to 128K output tokens, and adaptive thinking with the effort parameter. AWS notes it is the first Haiku with effort controls. It is available on the Claude API, Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud and Microsoft Foundry.
